Bauer (Cramerton, N.C.) was named First Team All-America for the second year in a row, after posting a 73.39 stroke average and nine top 10 finishes as a sophomore. She finished ranked No. 2 in the Golfweek/Sagarin women's individual rankings. Anderson (Edina, Minn.) and Garcia-Estrada (Tenerife, Spain) were named to the Second Team.
Anderson posted a 75.08 stroke average and finished the season ranked No. 15. She recorded six top 10 finishes and a team-best 10 top 20 finishes on her junior season.
Garcia-Estrada made a huge impact on the Duke squad in 1999-2000 as a freshman. She ranked third on the team with a 75.29 stroke average, posted one tournament victory, four top 10, and eight top 20 finishes in her first year at Duke. Garcia-Estrada concluded the season ranked No. 18.
At the National Golf Association Coaches banquet during the NCAA Championships other awards were announced. Garcia-Estrada was named Mid-Atlantic District Freshman of the Year, while Anderson and senior Amie Lehman were selected to the 1999-2000 NGCA All Scholar Team.
The 2000 GTE Academic All-District III team has been released and both Anderson and Bauer were named to the second team. Anderson posted a 3.66 GPA, while Bauer had a 3.27 GPA. Ten student-athletes were selected to each of the first and second teams.
The Duke women's golf team finished the season ranked No. 2 in the nation and concluded 1999-2000 campaign with its top five players ranked in the top 27 in the nation. Bauer was ranked No. 2 with Anderson (No.15), Garcia-Estrada (No.18), Candy Hannemann (No.26), and Kristina Engstrom (No.27) rounding out the top five.
