SUNRIVER, OREGON (May 24) - The Duke University women's golf team battled gusty winds for a first round 303 (+15) at the NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Oregon. The championships are being played at the Crosswater Course, which is a par 72 6,502 yards.

The University of Oregon holds the lead after day one with a 295 (+7) with Texas (296, +8), Georgia (296, +8), Ohio State (298, +10), Purdue (298, +10) rounding out the top five. The top four teams all went in the morning and faced light winds.

Duke was led by sophomore Beth Bauer with an even par 72 on the day and is tied for fifth individually. Kalen Anderson recorded a 74 (+2), while Candy Hannemann (78), Maria Garcia-Estrada (79), and Kristina Engstrom (81) round out the Duke scores.

Stacy Prammanasudh of Tulsa has the individual lead with a 69. Duke will be teeing off on Thursday at 9:00 AM and ESPN2 will be covering the competition Thursday and Friday live from 12-2:00 PM. All times listed are Pacific.
