Barksdale, a senior forward for North Carolina earns ACC Player of the Week recognition after recording 27 points and 14 rebounds as the Tar Heels defeated Winthrop 71-48. The game marked her fourth double-double of the season and tied her season-high scoring output. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native also shot 63.2 percent from the floor (12 for 19) and recorded four assists, a block and a steal in 36 minutes of play. For the season, Barksdale is averaging 19.4 points and 10.9 rebounds per contest, both league bests.
Rookie of the Week honors are claimed by Duke guard Rometra Craig who posted 10 points, one rebound, one assist and two steals in the Blue Devils' 69-45 victory over Arkansas State in the Fun in the Sun Shootout played in Cancun, Mexico. The rookie hailing from Portola Valley, California, hit 50.0 percent from the floor (4 for 8) and played 21 minutes. Her 10 points also mark the fourth time this season that she has tallied double-figures in scoring.
