Rookie of the Week honors are claimed for the third time in four week's by Duke freshman guard Alana Beard. In the Blue Devils' only contest this week, the Frierson, La., native posted her first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds as well as hitting 8 for 8 from the free throw line and dishing out four assists. In Duke's first ten contests this season, Beard leads the team with 15.5 points, 4.1 steals and 3.8 assists per game.
Batth, a senior center for Clemson earns ACC Player of the Week recognition after averaging 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in the Tiger victories over Furman and No. 3 Duke. In the two contests, Batth posted a .600 field goal percentage (15 for 25) while also averaging three blocks in 26.5 minutes per game. The Marietta, Ga., native recorded two double-doubles on the week with 22 points, 10 rebounds against Furman and 14 points, 10 rebounds against Duke. With the victories, Clemson improves its record to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.
