HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The No. 1 ranked Duke University women's golf team
turned in a second place finish at the Rolex/Golf World/Palmetto Dunes
Collegiate Invitational on Sunday in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Auburn Tigers fired a final round 291 as they edged the Blue Devils by five strokes with a 873. Duke finished with a 878 for the tournament. Rounding out the top five finishers is Texas (879), Southern California (881), and Georgia (885).
Duke's Junior Candy Hannemann finished in tied for ninth with a 70-73-74=217 (+1), sophomore Maria Garcia-Estrada turned in a tied for 13th finish (70-76-73=219, +3), sophomore Kristina Engstrom finished tied for 21st (72-74-76=222, +6), and freshman Virada Nirapathpongporn finished tied for 24th (72-75-76=223, +7). Leigh Ann Hardin finished tied for 31st (72-80-73=225, +9).
The tournament was played at the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall.
