Morton, a senior punter from Auburndale, Fla., leads the Atlantic Coast Conference and ranks second nationally in punting with his 45.2 yards per punt average. In the regular season finale versus North Carolina, he established new ACC all-time records for career punts (282) and career punting yardage (12,000).
An All-ACC selection in 1999, Morton finished his career with a 42.6 yards per punt average, a mark which ranks tied for 10th best in NCAA history for punters with a minimum of 250 kicks.
Morton is one of five Atlantic Coast Conference players selected to the team. Defensive lineman Jamal Reynolds and wide receiver Marvin Minnis of Florida State were picked for the squad while offensive lineman Chris Brown of Georgia Tech and linebacker Lavar Fisher of N.C. State also were tabbed.
Big East Conference champion Miami (Fla.) led the way with four selections -- offensive lineman Joaquin Gonzalez, linebacker Dan Morgan, defensive back Edward Reed and return specialist Santana Moss.
