The Blue Devils were led by junior Candy Hannemann and freshman Leigh Anne Hardin, which each carded a day one total of 73 and is tied for fourth overall. Freshman Virada Nirapathpongporn posted a 74 (T-12th) and senior Kalen Anderson tallied a 75 (T-17th) to round of the top four Blue Devils. Sophomore Kristina Engstrom struggled on the day turning in a 81.
Sophomore All-America Maria Garcia-Estrada saw her first action of the fall as an individual and carded a 73, which ranks tied for fourth. Garcia-Estrada was a second-team All-America selection and ACC Champion as a freshman.
Rounding out the top ten team scores are Wake Forest (298), Georgia (300), Tennessee (301), Memphis (303), Furman (303), South Florida (305), Vanderbilt (306), Florida (307), and South Carolina (308).
Jennifer Perri of Furman leads the individual play with a 72. Play will resume on Saturday morning with the Blue Devils teeing off from 11:00 A.M. to 11:36 A.M. off tee No. 1, while Garcia-Estrada will tee off No. 10 at 11:36 A.M.
