Junior Candy Hannemann and freshman Virada Nirapathpongporn are currently in third place overall with a 146, which is two-over-par. Nirapathpongporn fired a 70 on day two, after shooting a 76 on Friday. The round of 70 is the lowest of the tournament and only one other golfer has turned in the two-under-par score (Lauren Grzebien of Northwestern). Hannemann shot a 73 Saturday and now has posted five consecutive rounds of 75 or less in the last two tournaments.
Other Blue Devil scores on day two were Leigh Anne Hardin's 75 (73-75=148, T-7th) and Kalen Anderson notched a 79 and is in tied for 36th (79-79=158). Sophomore Kristina Engstrom is playing as an individual and continued her excellent play on day two with a 76. She is in 11th place overall with a 149 (73-76).
Rounding out the top five teams are Tennessee (599), Northwestern (601), LSU (609), and Purdue (613). Christie Hermes of Northwestern leads the individual action with a 72-72=144.
The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Sunday with 18 holes beginning at 8:30 A.M.
