Bauer Named To Curtis Cup Team

DURHAM, N.C. (Jan. 26) -- Duke University sophomore women's golfer Beth Bauer was named one of eight golfers selected to play on the U.S. Curtis Cup team, the United State Golf Association Women's Committee announced.

Bauer was a member of the United States' winning team in the 1998 Curtis Cup and is currently the top-ranked women's amateur player.

The Curtis Cup match is a biennial competition between the U.S. and Great Britain/Ireland, which will be played on June 24-25 at Ganton Golf Club in North Yorkshire, England.

The United State leads the all-time series 21-6-3, but Great Britain/Ireland has won the past three matches held in Europe (1988, 1992, and 1996).
