Joseph Taylor was the lone freshman to qualify for the men's 400m final at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He rose to the occasion in a tightly-contested race and delivered a top-five finish behind his dash of 45.83 seconds to earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-America First Team honors.
Taylor was also part of Duke's 4x400m relay, which clocked a season best of 3:04.28 and placed 13th overall. The relay team improved its own school record while securing USTFCCCA All-America Second Team accolades.
