2026 Duke True Spotlight: Callie McCarron

Duke field hockey head coach Pam Bustin and the program are excited to welcome a talented group of newcomers to the Blue Devil program in 2026. The Blue Devils are set to highlight each of the newest Duke True members over the next two weeks. Let's meet Callie McCarron, a midfielder from Raleigh, North Carolina
Headed to Durham by way of North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and The Netherlands, this group features a unique set of talents and field hockey experiences. While varying in position, one thing is certain - Duke field hockey got better on and off the turf with the addition of this outstanding young cohert.

Learning More About Callie
A four-year letterwinner at Cary Academy, Callie capped her high school career with a strong senior campaign with 15 goals and six assists. Ranked a top-100 player in the Class of 2026 by Max Field Hockey, she collected numerous conference and state honors for her performances, including Triangle Independent School Athletic Conference (TISAC) Player of the Year, All-TISAC First Team, NCISAA All-State First Team, High SchoolOT All-State First Team, NFHCA First Team and Max Field Hockey All-South Region Honorable Mention.
Callie earned TISAC All-Conference First Team, NCISAA All-State First Team and NFHCA All-Region recognition as a junior, helped lead Cary Academy to the TISAC conference championship as a sophomore while earning first-team all-conference and all-state honors, and picked up TISAC All-Conference Honorable Mention as a freshman on another conference title team.
She made her mark on the club and national stage with Bull City Field Hockey, helping the team finish second at the 2025 U-19 USAFH National Club Championship and runner-up at the JPOL South Region, in addition to competing at the U-19 Region 8S RCC Championships. As a member of BCFH's U-16 team in 2024, she helped capture the USAFH Region 8S RCC Championship title and competed at the U-16 National Club Championship. She has been a USA Field Hockey NEXUS Championship participant since 2021 and took part in the 2024 USA Field Hockey U-18 Selection Camp.
A multi-sport standout at Cary Academy, Callie was a 2024 NCISAA state champion and two-time NCISAA All-State honoree in track and field, where she graduated as the school-record in the indoor high jump. On the soccer field, she was named 2023 Freshman of the Year and earned second-team all-conference honors after leading the team in goals. Off the field, Callie was named to the Headmaster's Academic and Effort Honor Roll all four years at Cary Academy and spent three years as a member of the school's Center for Community Engagement Leadership program.
