The title game win gave Duke three wins over the Tar Heels for the first time since 1966. Danny Ferry was the ACC Player of the Year and followed that by earning ACC Tournament MVP honors at the Greensboro Coliseum. Ferry averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in the Blue Devils' win over Virginia, NC State and UNC to claim the program's eighth title.
