
16-0: Looking Back at Duke's Undefeated Home Season
Duke men's basketball capped off its regular season on March 4 with its 62-57 victory at North Carolina. Under first year-head coach Jon Scheyer, the Blue Devils (23-8, 14-6) used an undefeated regular season at home to help secure the No. 4-seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament and receives a double-bye into the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 9.
The 16-0 record at Cameron Indoor Stadium marked Duke's 19th perfect season in its historic home venue and the first since the 2013-14 season. Scheyer became the first first-year coach in ACC history to post an undefeated home record and joined Arizona's Tommy Lloyd (in 2021-22) as the only power conferences coaches in their true first year to go undefeated at home.

Duke vs. Jacksonville: 71-44
Jon Scheyer won in his head coaching debut for the Blue Devils, as Duke finished with 19 assists on 27 made field goals in beating Jacksonville, 71-44. Seven different Blue Devils had at least one assist as Duke limited JU to just 18 points in the second half. Freshman Mark Mitchell led four Blue Devils in double figures with 18 points.

Duke vs. USC Upstate: 84-38
Freshman Dereck Lively II made his Duke debut, after missing the exhibition and first game with a calf injury. He made his first two field goals (both dunks) and finished with four points, two rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 15 minutes. Junior Jeremy Roach had a game-high seven assists with 10 points and posted a game-best plus/minus of +43.

Duke vs. Delaware: 92-58
Duke’s 92 points scored were a season high and freshman Dariq Whitehead made his Duke debut after being out since Aug. 30 with a foot fracture. He had six points, with two rebounds and two steals in 15 minutes. Freshman Tyrese Proctor finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to mark his first career double-double, becoming the the first Australian-born Blue Devil all-time to post a double-double.

Duke vs. Bellarmine: 74-57
Duke was 14-of-35 from three-point range with six players knocking down at least one triple in the 74-57 win. The 14 threes were Duke’s most since hitting 15 at Syracuse on Feb, 26, 2022. Freshman Kyle Filipowski was Duke’s leading scorer for the fourth time with 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists in 20 minutes. Filipowski was 4-of-8 from the field, 3-of-5 from three and 7-of-8 at the line.

Duke vs. Ohio State: 81-72
Duke finished with a 20-4 all-time record in this, the final year of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, including 10-1 in home games. Graduate Ryan Young scored 10 points with five rebounds (three offensive) with two assists in 21 minutes off the bench. Freshman Dereck Lively II hit four of his five field goals for 11 points, five boards and two blocks in 18 minutes.

Duke vs. Boston College: 75-59
Duke moved to 52-18 all-time in ACC openers as Duke limited Boston College to .273 from the field in the first half and .373 for the game in winning 75-59. Freshman Mark Mitchell scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 2-of-2 from three-point range, while Kyle Filipowski had a double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Duke vs. Maryland Eastern Shore: 82-55
Duke continued its defensive dominance in holding UMES to 55 points and winning by 27 points as the Blue Devils started five freshmen for the first time in the program's storied history. Freshman Dariq Whitehead made his first career start and scored a then-career-high 15 points in 25 minutes. Classmate Tyrese Proctor also scored 15 points in the winning effort.

Duke vs. Florida State: 86-67
Duke’s 46 bench points were its most in an ACC game since 2004-05 as the Blue Devils rolled to an 86-67 win over Florida State on New Year's Eve. Duke's bench accounted for 53.5% of the Blue Devils' points, led by graduate Ryan Young's history-making performance. Young did not miss a shot while scoring 20 points – 7-of-7 field goals and 6-of-6 free throws to become just the sixth Duke player all-time to score 20+ points on 100 percent shooting.

Duke vs. Pittsburgh: 77-69
Duke held a 51-28 rebounding advantage and needed to rally from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat Pitt at Cameron Indoor. It marked Duke's largest halftime deficit overcome in a win since coming from 12 points down vs. Texas, 43-31, on Nov. 24, 2017, to win 85-78 at the PK80 in Portland. Freshman Kyle Filipowski had a monster effort with 28 points and 15 rebounds for his seventh double-double. He became just the third Duke freshman all-time to post at least 28 and 15, joining Marvin Bagley III and Jabari Parker.

Duke vs. Miami: 68-66
The game marked the 500th consecutive sellout at Cameron Indoor Stadium as the Blue Devils celebrate that, and Jeremy Roach's return from a three-game injury absence. Roach poured in 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting with four assists and two steals, while Kyle Filipowski recorded his ninth double-double – including his third straight – with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman Dereck Lively II grabbed 10 rebounds – six offensive – and swatted five shots.

Duke vs. Wake Forest: 75-73
Jeremy Roach scored a team-high 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 17 points in the first half as Duke held off Wake Forest for the 75-73 win, extending its home winning streak in the Wake series to 24 games. Freshman Kyle Filipowski secured his 11th double-double, including his fifth in the last six games, with 16 points and 11 rebounds. The freshman hit a late three and a dunk to keep Duke unbeaten at home.

Duke vs. North Carolina: 63-57
Head coach Jon Scheyer became the first Duke head coach to win his debut in the rivalry since Bill Fosters’ 99-96 overtime win at the Greensboro Coliseum on Jan. 3, 1975. Duke held Carolina to just 57 points – the Heels’ fewest points scored since in Durham since an 82-50 win on Jon Scheyer’s Senior Night on March 6, 2010. Jeremy Roach scored a team-high 20 points, including the Blue Devils’ final four points of the game and eight of the team’s last 10, while Dereck Lively II blocked a career-high eight shots and grabbed 14 rebounds. The eight blocks were the most all-time by a Duke player in a Duke-Carolina game.

Duke vs. Notre Dame: 68-64
Mark Mitchell drained a clutch three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining as Duke clipped Notre Dame's upset bid at Cameron. Jon Scheyer claimed the outright ACC record for longest home winning streak by a first-year head coach, having entered the game tied with North Carolina’s Hubert Davis (12 straight during the 2021-22 season). Duke was 13-of-15 (.867) at the free throw line for the game, including 5-of-6 in the game’s final 2:30. Kyle Filipowski led Duke with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting with six rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot.

Duke vs. Louisville: 79-62
Each of the eight Blue Devils that played in the game scored, while all five starters scored in double figures for Duke in the 79-62 win over Louisville on a Big Monday at Cameron Indoor. Jeremy Roach led the Blue Devils in scoring for the second consecutive game and seventh time this season with 14 points – 12 coming in the second half and eight in the final 5:51 of the game. Graduate Ryan Young was a team-high plus-minus of +24 in 14 minutes off the bench, while Kyle Filipowski and Mark Mitchell each scored 13.

Duke vs. Virginia Tech: 81-65
Duke's five starters each scored in double figures for the second consecutive game as Duke overpowered Virginia Tech, 81-65. Jon Scheyer claimed the program record for most wins by a first-year head coach, breaking the mark of 20 wins held by Harold Bradley (in 1950-51) and Gerry Gerard (in 1942-43). Jeremy Roach led Duke in scoring with 19 points, a career-high 11 assists and five rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting and 2-of-4 from three-point range for his first career double-double. Freshman Dereck Lively II scored a career-high 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting with five dunks. He also added seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 22 minutes for a team-high plus/minus of +28.

Duke vs. NC State: 71-67
Duke won a rivalry thriller in the regular-season home finale at Cameron Indoor Stadium, beating NC State 71-67. The win allowed the Blue Devils to finished an undefeated 16-0 at Cameron Indoor Stadium – the 19th undefeated home season in the venue's storied history. Jon Scheyer again mad history as the ACC's first first-year head coach to go undefeated at home. Tyrese Proctor scored 12 points and was a team-best 8-of-9 at the free throw line, while Jeremy Roach led Duke in scoring with 20 points for his fifth 20-point game this season. Roach scored six of Duke’s final 10 points to close out the victory.
