DURHAM – The NR/15 Duke swimming and diving program returns to the pool this weekend with a tri-meet in Raleigh, N.C., against No. 4/4 NC State Wolfpack and No. 9/13 Georgia Bulldogs.
The meet will be available on Meet Mobile and can be seen on ACCNX beginning at 5 p.m.
NOTEABLES
- Junior divers Margo O'Meara and Will McCollum were named ACC divers of the week after they both took home first place finishes against UNCW. O'Meara broke the pool record on the 1-meter event, while McCollum swept the 1-and 3-meter events.
- The Blue Devils' women improved to 2-0 this season, defeating UNCW, 188-104, on Friday afternoon at the Taishoff Aquatic Center.
- JC Castrillon dropped nearly 26 seconds off his previous season-best in the men's 1000-Freestyle, clocking in at 9:33.86 on Friday. Austin Simpson finished second in the event, as the men's squad started fast against UNCW.
- Sophomore Kaelyn Gridley collected her first NCAA B-Cut in the 100-Breaststoke, finishing first in the event with a time of 1:00.61. Gridley doubled up on victories in the Breaststroke events, finishing first in the 200-Yard event.
- Duke's women swept the 3-meter diving event, as Josie Zillig, Emily Rakestraw and Ali Watson all finished on the podium.
- On the men's side, Duke swept the 1-meter diving event, as Will McCollum, Yannis Schattman and Seamus Harding Jr. all placed on the podium.
- Freshman Andrew Li collected a victory in the 200-Butterfly against UNCW, clocking in a time of 1:53.58. He was joined on the podium by Simpson who finished with a time of 1:56.52.
- In the 100-Backstroke, Pfaff and Emily Lenihan finished first and second to score points for the Blue Devils. Pfaff won her second backstroke event this season, while Lenihan dropped her time nearly two seconds to 55.99.
